As you can see Spoon is loving all of the attention he has been getting, learning how to follow rules and be a good horse. Nicol (the horse's trainer) says that Spoon has the personality of a Labrador Retriever...so I guess that means he is a mellow and easy going guy.
He enjoys being ridden and LOVES attention almost as much as he enjoys food - making him and Elba a match made in heaven! Elba has officially claimed Spoon as her horse.
Bode is now officially MY (Susan's) horse! :)
Elba and Spoon have been bonding over the last few weeks while I have been away. I had shoulder surgery and have been gone for 3 weeks. The riding lessons with Nicol have been very rewarding for both Elba and Spoon.
Winter is over and Spring is in full force with the grass growing and the flowers blooming as well as time for lots of horseback riding.
Spoon was doing round pen training today and soon will be adventuring out and about in Herald, CA .

Bode and Spoon are two quarter horses that we adopted and have built a new life for in Northern California.
History on Bode: He was dumped on a neighbor and abandoned. While mountain biking, I heard him calling for me to stop and visit with him...that is where it all began. I began visiting Bode daily (at the time he was called 'Red'). My visits became daily as did my treats and walks with him. We walked the neighborhood and feasted upon the neighborhood grassy sections. Bode and I had a wonderful summer. A horse vet came to look at him and said he was approximatly 13 years old, his teeth were worked on and hooves done. He was still a stallion and were told it be a good idea to have him gelded before bringing another horse around.
This is where Spoon aka Blaze came into the picture:
History on Spoon: Spoon was a yearling and dumped off with his first 'real' owner in Stagecoach Nevada.
He lived there for the next four years of his life before we bought him in the summer of 2011 at age 5.
